"I am pleased to serve the church members who were bought with the price of Lord's blood"

| Manmin News No. 383 | 2014-04-20

Elder Hakcheol Kim with his family (aged 59, 3-32 Parish in South Korea)

At one time I was unable to raise my arms above my head because I'd had surgery on my left shoulder ligament long time ago. In 1993 I was guided to Manmin Central Church by my wife, Senior Deaconess Mikyung Lee, and received Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer. I was healed of the shoulder pain at that time. Moreover, his sermons brought about a lot of change in my life. I began thinking as if in the other person's shoes as God tells us to do. I tried showing a good example and was taking a lead in doing seemingly hard work. Doing so, I could gain recognition in my workplace.

I was even blessed to work for the church from November 15, 1995. I had more than 30 years of experience in the fields of electrical and facility maintenance and facility fire prevention. With the experience, I worked diligently. In March 2010, I had an accident. My palm was bumped very hard against a nipper. It caused my left ring finger to lock, fail to bend or open up. The medical test said it was trigger finger. The doctor told me that the loop over the muscle's tendon needed surgery to release it, but even after surgery the finger would not be normal in bending or strength.

I had already met God the Healer, so I wanted to receive healing by faith. I started to look for what I had to repent. It soon came to my mind that I had worked with discomfort inside towards people whose ideas or opinions were different from mine. I pretended to be at peace though I felt uncomfortable. I was so sorry before God, so I rent my heart and thoroughly repented. Then, I wrote a sentence "Please, heal me" on my palm and shook hands with Dr. Lee. Two days after that my left ring finger was straightened and I could bend it freely. The power given to fingers was also the same. Hallelujah!

Hearing my testimony, Dr. Lee said it was a God-given blessing to demolish my self-righteousness and self-frameworks. And he also saw me, who was nothing, in faith saying about me, "He loves God and has a precious inner heart." I didn't know what to do at that time. I had been a foolish man who mistakenly deemed mine the best, but the shepherd saw me with faith. I felt his love from my heart and decided to be a good steward. So I wanted to serve the members with my heart and started to see others' strengths with faith.

From 2012 I was keeping in my heart the Word as in 1 Timothy 4:5 saying, "For it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer." I tried my best to make the messages preached during services bread for my life, practiced them, and prayed. Thankfully, I finally accomplished the heart of spirit in December 2013. Since then, my love for my coworkers in Facility Maintenance Bureau has become deeper and deeper. These days, I talk about what I have realized in the daily meeting in the morning.

"Today God gives us good situations for us in our lives. Something may look difficult, may not agree with our thinking or experience, and may hurt our pride. However, I hope you will feel the love of God who wants us to accomplish the heart of goodness through all of them."

Members of my bureau have changed and are working with an active attitude. They reply to the church members like these, "Ah! Yes, I will help you!" "Is there anything that may be causing troubles? I will check it right away!" or "May I help you?" Because our office manages the church facilities and sanctuaries, we have to deal with something unexpected or sometimes work on Saturday or national holidays or late at night. But we work with joy and thanks.

Serving the Lord and the church members in this holy sanctuary, it itself pleases me. I give all thanks and glory to God who gave me this precious duty.
